At Colorado Integrated Electrical Systems, some of our favorite projects are with returning customers. It means trust has already been built and we get the opportunity to continue improving a home over time.

This recent project with the Baca family marked our second time working together, and the goal was clear: upgrade key areas of the home, improve safety, and find efficient solutions without creating unnecessary work.

A Returning Customer We’re Proud to Serve

Repeat customers are one of the strongest indicators that we’re doing things the right way. Sarah Baca came back to us looking for thoughtful upgrades and solutions that would make their home safer and more functional — without turning it into a major construction project.

Smarter Lighting Without the Extra Work

One of the biggest transformations in this project was updating outdated fluorescent lighting.

We demoed the old fixtures and installed six canless LED lights, instantly modernizing the space. But the real win came from planning.

By strategically placing the new lights over existing ceiling openings, we were able to reduce the need for drywall repair. That meant less mess, less cost, and a faster turnaround.

Options That Led to the Right Solution

No two homes are the same, which is why we walked the Baca family through multiple lighting options before moving forward.

This allowed us to land on a solution that not only looked better but worked better for how they use their space day to day. Taking the time to explore options is what turns a standard upgrade into the right upgrade.

Small Upgrades That Made a Big Impact

Beyond lighting, we handled several improvements throughout the home:

  • Replaced a bedroom ceiling light
  • Installed a dimmer switch for better lighting control
  • Upgraded garage outlets for improved reliability

We also identified unstable outlets in the living room and brought them up to current code — a fix that improves both safety and peace of mind.

Prioritizing Safety Behind the Scenes

One of the most important parts of this project wasn’t immediately visible.

We completed an aluminum wire rehabilitation, helping reduce the risk of overheating and bringing the home’s electrical system in line with modern safety standards.

These are the upgrades that truly matter — the ones that protect the home long after the project is complete.

The Bigger Picture

This project is a perfect example of how the right electrical work should look:

  • Thoughtful planning.
  • Efficient execution.
  • And solutions that actually make your home better.

By avoiding unnecessary repairs and focusing on smart placement and long-term safety, we delivered a result that checked every box.
